The Holland Key Club recently participated in a "Miracle Minute" during the Mr. Holland competition won by Mr. Parker Bray. Money was raised for 2017 graduate, Dylan Perlino, who is suffering with a rare cancer. The over 300 community members, students and faculty from Holland in the audience were encouraged to donate as much as they could during the "miracle minute" as baskets were passed around the auditorium.
The money was added up and $927.50 was raised! A few members of Kiwanis chipped in to make the donation an even $1000.
“Thank you to everyone and their generosity an support of a terrific Holland Student,” said George Schmidt, Holland Social Studies teacher and Key Club Advisor. “It’s acts of kindness like this that highlight the Holland school family and how it comes together to help those in need in our community.”
The Key Club donated the money directly to the Holland Kiwanis Club to be shared with the Perlino family.
