Holland Art Students Create Meaningful Portraits

Art Students in the Holland Advanced Placement Art class recently completed exceptional portraits for “The Memory Project.”  This project allows young artists to create portraits for children facing challenges in countries all over the world, including the United States.  These challenges may include neglect, abuse, loss of parents, violence, war, and extreme poverty.

The portraits help the children feel valued and important, let them know that many people care about their wellbeing, and serve as meaningful pieces of personal history. For the students who create the artwork, the project is an opportunity to creatively practice kindness and global awareness.

Holland students created four portraits for children somewhere in the USA.
