Anonymous Reporting

Do you have a good friend who is abusing drugs or alcohol or seems to be depressed and you don’t want to betray his or her trust? Do you know about parties where drugs or alcohol are being abused? Do you notice unusual or violent behavior out of a fellow student, and you are just not sure where to turn? Holland Central Schools is now offering an online alert system. Anyone can send an anonymous tip at any time. The report is setup to remove the username of the person sending the report; thus, keeping the identity of the tipster anonymous.

False reporting of an incident is against state law and school policy
Section 240.50 of the New York State Penal Law states: A person is guilty of falsely reporting an incident when, knowing the information reported, conveyed or circulated to be false or baseless, he/she initiates a false report or warning of an alleged occurrence or impending occurrence of a crime, catastrophe or emergency under circumstances in which it is not unlikely that public alarm or inconvenience will result. This is a Class A Misdemeanor.
