Ms. Grybel teaches fourth to sixth grade band at the elementary and middle school. She has always known she wanted to be a teacher. Ms. Grybel’s mother has kept one of her third grade writing samples of “where do you see yourself in 20 years” and it goes into detail about Ms. Grybel seeing herself as a teacher. In high school, it became clear that music was the subject she most enjoyed sharing with others. Ms. Grybel has a Bachelor of Music Education and Bachelor of Music-Jazz Performance from The Ohio State University and a Master of Music Education- Wind Band Conducting Concentration from SUNY Fredonia.
This is Ms. Grybel’s fourth year at Holland. Her favorite thing about teaching at Holland is that the community is full of wonderful families that feel like one giant family. She doesn’t mind the view of fall foliage in Holland either! When she isn’t in the classroom, Ms. Grybel performs in a number of groups, including the Erie County Wind Ensemble, The Alex Rene Big Band and the German American Musicians Association. She also subs for a number of other groups when needed.
