Mr. Kaun teaches Special Education and Social Studies at Holland High School. He says that he had several very influential teachers in his life who inspired him to help others through education. He began his college education at U.B. in engineering but quickly realized that his passion was teaching of history. He transferred to Buffalo State where he graduated with a bachelor's degree. Upon completion he attended D'Youville College and received his master's degree in Adolescent Education. After a year teaching English in South Korea, he returned and finished his Special Education certification courses through D'Youville College and Medaille College. Currently he is pursing an Advanced Certificate in School Administration from Buffalo State College. Mr. Kaun has been at Holland for 3.5 years and has 13 years of teaching experience, as well as numerous non-teaching postions.
He says his favorite thing about Holland is the faculty, staff and students he gets to work with, who make every day an adventure worth having. Away from school, Mr. Kaun has a 5 year old daughter and a 1.5 year old son. He enjoys reading, playing video games and spending time with his family. He also offers his services to help students with Tourettes Syndrome to any and all students who may need them.
