School Closure and Distance Learning
Greetings 6th Graders,
We miss you already! The most important thing now is to take care of yourselves and your families. Drinking water, getting some exercise, and trying to stick to some sort of routine will help keep you healthy and keep your spirits up. We look forward to seeing you as soon as school opens back up, but in the meantime there are lots of ways we can keep learning and stay in touch. We understand that internet access and resources are different for each family, so please access and complete work as you are able.
We will be sharing activities for you to work on throughout each week and we will also be available to communicate with you and answer any questions that you may have.
Furcron ELA: Class website, ELA link on the left side. I will post any additional assignments, links, or directions there. If you were able to obtain your novel, please begin reading it. In the ELA tab, I will post recommended reading and work to go along with each novel.
Kling ELA: Go into Office 365 and click on Shared With Me. There will be a new folder called 2020 ELA Kling. Activities will be posted in this folder. There will be links to videos and websites as well as Readworks, ReadTheory, and other sites that we have used frequently in class. I would love if you read The Devil’s Arithmetic and answered the questions in the packet. I will post an audiobook soon on Office 365.
Ruiz ELA: Office 365! Go into your ELA notebook and daily activities will be posted under “Week of…” folders. There will be links to videos and websites as well as Readworks, ReadTheory, and other sites that we have used frequently in class. I would love if you read The Lightning Thief and answered the questions in the packet. There is an audiobook for The Lightning Thief available on Mr. Furcron’s webpage if you like to listen as you read.
Math: Office 365! You each have a new notebook where daily math practice will be posted. This practice will be review of prior skills. Look for 2020 Math Period 1, 2020 Math Period 2, or 2020 Math Period 8.
Social Studies: Class website, Social Studies link on the left side. Please check the link for any presentations, videos, virtual field trips, and other sources of information.
Science: Office 365! In your science notebook click on the "Week of..." folder! To begin it is "Week of March 18th." There will be a page for each day with your activites and directions posted. I will post links to videos, websites, museum tours, and other cool resources I have found to share with you. I am excited to do some virtual exploring together!
We miss you and look forward to being in touch,
Your 6th Grade Teachers; Mr. Furcron, Mrs. Kling, and Mrs. Ruiz
