Welcome to Holland Central School District, Transportation Department. I hope you find the following information helpful. If, at any time, you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Holland Central School District owns and maintains 32 vehicles, including Building & Grounds service vehicles. Our staff of 20 professionals work out of the Transportation Department located at 177 Canada St. We transport 825 students approximately 400,000 miles each year. Our professional school bus drivers maintain their CDL license each year by attending two refresher classes, passing yearly defensive driving reviews, physicals, and license reviews. In addition, they must pass a bi-yearly physical performance test, behind the wheel driving review, and a written test.School transportation is available for all students over the age of 4. Students are allowed one alternate site for pickup or drop off. Bus information is NOT carried over from year to year. Therefore, alternate pickup or drop off requests must be received via ParentSquare on or before August 16, 2024 for the changes to be in effect on the first day of school. Requests received after August 16, 2024 will NOT take effect until Sept. 16th. Daily transportation changes will only be made in the case of an emergency. Each year, staff establishes bus routes based on safety, stops, and time schedules. Postcards will be sent to each student prior to the start of school in September, containing pick-up and drop-off information. All students are expected to be out waiting for the bus 5 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. Buses cannot wait for students to come out for the bus stop. Students should be waiting safely at the end of their driveway, visible to the driver. This will help substitute drivers locate bus stops and keep buses running on time.If you are requesting a change in transportation for your student(s), please fill out the form below.Any parent wishing to have their child attend a private/parochial school, in accordance with New York State Education Law Section 3635, must submit a written request for non-public transportation by April 1 preceding the next school year.Below is a request form that you must use to fill out and submit.
