Each prepares its students for a different lifeguarding environment with various difficulty levels. Before you enroll in a certification course, it’s best to first decide on the aquatic setting where you want to work. Then you won’t have to pass another course to get additional qualifications later.
Lifeguard Training This is the certification you need to work at a typical pool. This course incorporates a blended learning format with online training sessions, classroom skills and water rescue activities. · 2 year American Red Cross certificate in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED (waterfront lifeguarding can be added on at a later time for a fee) Waterfront Lifeguard The Waterfront Lifeguard certification course incorporates both the Lifeguarding course with the Waterfront skills module. The purpose of the Waterfront skills module is to teach lifeguards the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to emergencies in non-surf, open-water areas found at public parks, resorts, summer camps and campgrounds. - Currently certified lifeguards with valid certification in Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED or those who have not expired by more than 30 days. This recertification option is for currently certified lifeguards to review skills including water rescues, CPR/AED and first aid skills.
Prerequisites: Provide proof of valid Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
- Pass the following swim test on the day of class:
- 500-yard swim using front crawl or breaststroke
- 2-minute tread using legs only
- Retrieve a 10-lb dive weight from 7 ft deep, surface and swim 20 yds with the weight, using legs only and exit the pool without using a ladder within 100 seconds

In-car driving times will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. In-car times include - 8:00AM-9:30AM, 11:15AM-12:45PM, 1:00PM-2:30PM
This 17 day program for driver education will be provided for all Holland and East Aurora students who are 16 years old and hold a valid NYS permit or driver license. If the course registration is not full as of May 31, 2018, students from surrounding districts may register. Attendance for all classes is mandatory. Cell phones and the use of any electronic devices are prohibited during instruction (in-car or in classroom). Flip flops are also prohibited in the vehicle. To ensure the safety of all students, disturbances in the car or classroom may result in expulsion from the Driver Education Program without refund. The six-hour Defensive Driving Course for Point/Insurance Reduction focuses on driver behavior modification and is taught by a retired police officer from the East Aurora Police Department. Sponsored by the NY Safety Program and approved by NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. You must attend both classes in a session. This course offers both the insurance reduction of 10% off collision & liability and up to 4 points from driver’s license, if needed. Attendance at both classes is required.

If you have taken a CultureKids class previously, new vocabulary is introduced with each session--never a repeat. Join the fun! CultureKids, founded in 1999, offers Spanish enrichment programs for preschool and elementary students. They are dedicated to teaching the Spanish language to children using an established, successful curriculum that introduces the foreign vocabulary in a fun and interactive manner. Dr. Horohoe will teach a twelve-week course presenting: the functions and uses of the French language; pronunciation, grammar, and the concepts which underlie the language; the culture and geography of French-speaking countries and regions like France, Quebec, Morocco, and Martinique; and practical use of French in real world situations.

Learn to play guitar is designed for the young, beginner, guitar student. Theory aspect of chords and reading music is NOT a requirement. Students will learn everything from the parts of the guitar, how to tune, correct rhythm and strumming techniques and finally, how to play cords that make up popular songs.
