I thoroughly enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for art in an educational setting.  In addition to teaching, I love drawing, 2D and 3D design work, painting, sculpture, ceramics, fiber and textile design.

 

As an educator of the arts I strongly believe in creating opportunities for all students to be successful.  As Vincent Van Gogh once said, "Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." I look forward to guiding student growth and learning in the arts, as well helping students to see how art is interconnected with a wide variety of other aspects in life; from interdisciplinary subjects, to diverse fields of interest outside of the classroom, art can help to enhance and develop individuals who are well-rounded, critical thinkers and creative problem solvers.  My students will leave here with an increased sense of self-worth and self-esteem.  They will learn to be cooperative and productive members of their community.  Art is more than talent and technique, it is truly an interconnected part of a larger global society. 

 

I will be teaching all 5th, 7th and 8th grade students on a 10 week rotation.  In addition, I am teaching Studio Art and High School Yearbook, which are full year courses.  Throughout the year we will be working on a variety of projects in various media.
