Mr. Schmidt teaches 9-12 Social Studies, 9th grade global honors, 10th grade global regents, AP World History, Psychology and Sociology. He decided to go into education because he has always loved kids, history and coaching. Mr. Schmidt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Social Studies Education from Houghton College and a master’s degree in history/education from the University at Buffalo. He has taught at Holland for 24 years. He also coached the 2013 girls varsity soccer team which won the state championship!

Mr. Schmidt cites the community and students as his favorite things about teaching at Holland. When he is not in the classroom, Mr. Schmidt enjoys camping and hiking.
